Anzac Day 2026

Anzac Day 2026

I would like to express my sincerest thanks to Dilber and the Board of Directors, to everyone who attended last night’s flag ceremony and youth vigil ceremony, and also to every individual who participated in today’s ANZAC march. I would also like to extend my deepest gratitude to Mr. Cetin and Ms. Sengul for donating the pastries served at Istanbul Lounge after the march, and to Gulten for the baklava, tea, and refreshments. Our association is built on solid foundations. I am very grateful to everyone who has contributed to our association in the past and who helped us gain these rights. I wish for the continuation of successful activities.

Bahar and Ryan proudly represented the Turkish community at last night’s Youth Vigil, laying a wreath at the War Memorial.

We began on North Terrace and made our way along to King William Street, finishing at the Atatürk Memorial at Pennington Gardens.

Afterwards, we gathered at Istanbul Lounge for börek, çay and baklava. The börek was once again very generously donated by Çetin abi and Şengül abla of Anatolia Turkish Kitchen, and the çay and baklava were provided by Istanbul Lounge.

Our sincere thanks to all who attended and helped make the day so meaningful. Being part of the ANZAC Day commemorations is a true privilege, and we hope to see our community continue to grow in presence and spirit in the years ahead. ❤️🇹🇷
